local roots to
global results

We collaborate with partners to design and generate scalable solutions for social and climate challenges. In doing so we foster people’s individual talents and protect all living beings. We work to meet people’s basic needs for health, education and energy, and to safeguard freedom of expression and human rights.

Our approach combines grant making, impact investing, the strategic convening of partners for greater impact and launching new initiatives. We work at the intersection of philantrophy and impact investing, operating through two separate organizations:
Next to funding, we contribute our expertise and network to help create lasting & deelply rooted impact. We carefully choose the initiatives we support and do not accept unsolicited proposals.
Through Orchard Participations, we invest in impactful businesses and social enterprises. In this way, we directly deploy our capital to support the goals of the Orchard Foundation.
A few of the initiatives are highlighted below. A summary of all of our partners can be found here.
